Season's greetings from Wright County, MN

Merry, bright & safely trimmed.

Snow and ice add real weight to weak limbs. If something's hanging over the roof or the driveway, let's take a look before it comes down on its own. We don't just cut wood: every job is worked from tree biology, rigging physics, and property safety by a licensed, insured, family-owned crew.

The Nice List & the Naughty List

Biology first, saw second. Cut wrong and you can do real, sometimes fatal, damage to a tree. We prune to remove risk and improve health and form.

Nice

  • Cleaning. Removing dead, dying, or diseased branches before they become a hazard.
  • Thinning. Selective branch removal that opens the canopy to more light and airflow.
  • Raising. Lifting lower branches for clearance over driveways, walkways, and sightlines.
  • Reduction. Sizing a tree down, often for line clearance, while preserving its structure.

Naughty

  • Topping. Chopping off a tree's top leaves big wounds and weak, crowded regrowth.
  • Flush cuts. Cutting into the branch collar removes the tissue a tree uses to seal the wound.
  • Spikes on a tree that's staying. Spikes puncture a tree's cambium, its vascular system, leaving it open to infection. We only strap on spikes for removals, never for live pruning work.
Before and after photos of a tree pruned to raise its canopy and open its structure
BeforeAfter

Spike-less by default. When a tree is staying, the crew climbs it without spikes. The before-and-after here shows a raised, opened-up canopy: more light and more clearance.
